Bought this to keep my 8 yr old engaged and away from electronic games. He likes building long, complicated marble runs, but gets frustrated with this, as it's not very stable, has no base pieces (besides where the marbles come out), so if he even bumps it slightly, it falls apart. This makes him angry, so he walks away. Not the fun toy I thought it would be. :( (My photo shows how we had to anchor it in the box for stability) If we're doing something wrong, let us know! Would like to use it more often!

It will also help if you add width to the build to balance the impressive height you have here. A few wider touch points on the floor, especially on the tallest end, would be great additions. My grand daughter was disappointed there wasn't enough pieces to make the tower shown on the box. We did make what we could, and she liked playing with it.

We bought the smaller set for Christmas and then my 4 year old requested the larger set for his birthday. I have 5 children between the ages of 1 and 11 and they all enjoy playing with this. The 1 year old can't build with it yet, but he likes to drop the marbles in. I enjoy playing with it as well. We did have missing pieces and it was a hassle having to return it and get a new set. It would have been nice if they had a parts list and could just send out the pieces that were missing, but the toy itself is great quality.

I enjoyed putting this marble run together as a 60 yr old gramma! Both my grandsons love it (5 yrs & 3 yrs)! It is a toy that can be reconstructed in many ways and this promotes thought and planning in the child. There is just something about watching those marbles race through the maze that infatuates kids! My 5 yr old's birthday is this summer and he will be getting a second set to add on to the first! It is a gift that won't get boring. Just make sure the little one's won't/don't put any marbles in their mouths! :-)

They have this at the elementary school and the students love it. I was so excited to have this for my own children. This has provided hours of entertainment for the kids. Sometimes they build huge ones together while sometimes they build seperate ones and then show each other their creations. Their friends and cousins have been over and found it equally fun! I am so glad we purchased the mega set!

My 5 year old son loves this marble ramp, and so do I! It's super fun to build different ramps and this set comes with tons of cool pieces. My son is beyond thrilled with his new ramp! My 20 month old daughter is also very into the marbles and ramp. Though she can't put the pieces together yet, she sure enjoys letting the marbles roll down what her brother built.

I was concerned that our 8 yr old son would not like it. Maybe it was for younger kids and it isn't a video game. I'm so happy I was wrong! They love it!! They - an 8 year old boy AND a 45 year old father! The only complaint was that they wanted more pieces and one of the masterpieces that was built was so high the 8 yr old needed a foot stool to reach the top! We love it!

I think I like this as much as my son and daughter do! I recommend this for two reasons, both of which satisfy the concerns I had when researching different brands.
1) There are plenty of "specialty pieces" like ramps, chutes, drains, etc. It seems like a lot of reviews for other brands state that you'll eventually need more than one set. This has enough that I don't think we'll ever need a second set. Wanting a second set is a different story... it's that fun to keep augmenting.
2) The pieces fit relatively snugly, some more than others, some almost too tight, but none are loose. Loose connections seemed to be a big factor with a lot of competitors. With this set, we don't worry about the connections, just building a wide stable base, but that's a problem with our engineering skills, not the product. We're getting better at it!

My son received this marble run as a Christmas present. We had so much fun playing with it Christmas morning, we ended up losing track of the time and were late for family gathering! I would highly recommend this gift and will likely purchase again to give as gifts.

The girls love this toy. They play and enjoy coming up with new structures. This toy provides hours of thinking, problem solving, and higher order thinking for kids! This toy NEVER gets old!

This Mega Marble Run is great fun and has been enjoyed at our house by kids and adults from age 7 through age 89! Highly recommend this toy! We have already discussed possibly buying another small marble run to add on to this one. We used additional marbles we had at home and had over 70 marbles running through it! Loads of fun!

I actually bought two of these One for my seven year old great nephew who is slightly autistic but very bright and loves to build things. He did need some help putting it together by his older sister My niece told me he loves it and plays with it constantly The other one is a Christmas present for my 3 yr old grandson and i'm sure his mom and dad will enjoy playing it with him because of the marbles.

We bought this for our 4 year old daughter for Christmas, we started with a smaller set and had so much fun we ordered the biggest set that same day......then we bought each one our 4 year old granddaughters the largest set for their birthdays. One of the favorite toys, they play for hours and nothing has broken yet. Will be a toy that we will put away for great grandchildren when they outgrow.......but I can see them playing with this for years. Dad's and Mom's love to play along.......contemplating ordering another set. We have made a zillion differant versions, some reach the ceiling and now trying for the longest one. Great for dexterity, imagination, problem solving. They will happily play alone with it for hours too.

This is a great building set to encourage creative thinking. My grandchildren, ages 6-11 love it. The only drawback is that it's not very sturdy and broken pieces cannot be replaced because it's made in China. One piece broke in completely normal play use - not abuse, after only two weeks. I'd rate it five stars if broken pieces could be replaced, or if it was more durable.

We purchased the Mega Marble Run to add to a Mindware Marble run that we had already purchased for our kids. The new Mega Marble run is great with many new pieces and lots of translucent pieces that the kids love. Highly recommend!

My son got a MindWare Marble Run set from his grandparents for Christmas and the two of us had so much fun playing with it that I bought the Mega Marble Run set. The best part about the Mega Marble Run set are the track splitters so your marbles go down alternating paths. And the splitters work flawlessly. Between the two sets, my kids and I can make huge tracks with lots of different features. And for those who wish this came with assembly instructions, you are missing the whole point: get creative and exercise your brain. My Mega Marble Run set had several missing pieces when it arrived but the folks at MindWare were great and shipped out an exchange right away. Overall, I am extremely happy with this set. The only thing I wish they made was a conveyer belt to automatically return the marbles to the top like some sets have. Otherwise, it is great!

Track splitters? I don't see them in the picture. I have the 103-piece set and would love to get some track splitters! How can I get them without purchasing the Mega Set? I don't see track splitters in the expansion pack. Argh, I want track splitters! Please, MindWare, offer an expansion set that includes these pieces!

Looks like kids in Apex love these. We live in Apex also and got my daughter the Mindware Marble Run set in a local store for her birthday, then bought one more so she would have more pieces. Searched online and saw this - looks like now the Mega set is the way to go. Thanks for the info, Steve!

Excellent family activity! We ordered the Mega Marble Run after getting the regular Marble Run at Christmas. We liked the regular Marble Run so much we wanted more parts so we could build bigger and have competitions! It has gotten a lot of use from not just the children (ages 6-17 ) but the adults enjoy the challenge of building as well. This game was $ well spent.

OK...let me just say WOW!! I am so happy I purchased this for my kids. This set has provided literally HOURS of fun for my kiddos, boy age 9 and girl age 7, and their parents! We have arranged and rearranged this set and created the coolest runs. We even got more marbles out and added to the set so we could keep more going at once. This is not only fun but also rather educational as the kids try to figure out how to connect and make each run flow into other runs. My only disappointment is that the set didn't come with instructions to put the set together like the picture on the box. My daughter was determined to have the set built to look and work like that because "It looks AWESOME, Mom!"....we eventually figured out at least something close but at the cost of my sanity. Lol. I would advise you build the set on a board or something moveable because if you find a configuration you love, you will have a hard time keeping it that way if you need to change its location. I've learned this the hard way. I would definitely purchase this again. It is very colorful and sturdy, and I believe it will last for many years of play.

For the price of close to $60, I was hoping for something more sturdy and more pieces. It seems to tip over a lot. I'm afraid the pieces will break if stepped on.
Perhaps we will get more proficient at building and our projects will get sturdier. Some initial instructions would have been nice to get us off to the right start on getting pieces in place correctly to have the bottom end up even and sturdy, but I can also see value in the discovery of that.
Our kids love the marble run when we are there to set it up where it won't fall. I do see years of fun ahead with it.

This was a birthday present for my niece and nephew, who just turned three. At that age, an adult has to assemble (or at least "assist" the assembly) of a structure, but the kids loved playing with it. The set is well-made, with the pieces fitting firmly into each other, and there's enough variety and quantity to make nice big structures (or two medium-sized structures; important since I'm dealing with a set of twins...).
A sheet of paper describing the use of the various special pieces could be a help to frazzled adults putting the thing together for the first time. We did figure out everything, eventually, but it took a while.
