We tried it in several water locations and only once got a clear view of anything in the water, and that thing was only 1 ft under water. My grandson loved the idea of it, but lost interest after we tried so many places without luck.

We took this on a trip to Kauai with us. My son (11) and daughter (9) had some difficulty holding the scope at just the right spot to get it focused. (lack of patience) I on the other hand enjoyed using it to narrow in on items on the floor of the ocean. I have a feeling in a small pond or stream my kids will enjoy it too.

Very interesting concept. However, our boys were gifted this for Christmas and everything is frozen so they took it to the bathtub. Children MUST understand that there is a water line and they cannot fully immerse the product. We have had to dry it out twice now.
