6-7 year olds may need help getting a bracelet started. Clip holds at the knot, so as it gets longer the bracelet moves around more and it makes it harder to work with.

This was a very popular gift with both my 7 year old daughter (whose gift it was) and my 10 year old daughter. I even like to use it. It really helps keep all the strings in order, although the bracelet still gets all twisted. It has been a terrific purchase.

Although the idea of the bracelet maker is a good one it definitely is NOT made for 6 year olds. It takes a great deal of practice for my 8 yr. old grandaughter an she is still having difficulty. I believe the age for comfortable performance should be 12 yrs' of age and not six.

This is a perfect product for crafty kids. I bought it for my 2 neices and my daughter and they all love it. Highly recommend. Be prepared to wear a lot of woven jewelry, however.

Taking an old time favorite and making it new again is such a great idea. I must admit, I bought me this bracelet maker before my daughter, and because I took the time to learn it, it was that much easier to teach my 8 year daughter, then 7 when I got it how to do it. She has since made several bracelets....I think just with any toy, teaching kids how to do it going to be a task at hand, but the rewards are far more worth it at the end when there more interested in it and not watching t.v. Once the basic (stripe) pattern is mastered, other patterns can be found on there website in there workshop. No will be a pro over night, and like with anything never give up practice makes perfect no matter the age...Happy Knotting.

I purchased 2 of these for our granddaughters that are 8 yr. old. They love them and the bracelets turned out beautiful. Just as nice and flat and colorul as the bracelets that our 14 and 15 yr old grandaughters make. The younger girls had no problem working with the braiding, as they had in the past by just tying or taping the strings down. Now they can make things like the 'big' girls and just as nice. The refills gave them a lot of choice of colors. My problem now is I will have to buy 2 more sets for the teenage granddaughters.

My 6 year grandaughter was totally captivated by this. She wouldn't let us do anything else until we showed her how to get started. She worked with her 5 yr old cousin for hours. They didn't want to stop.

Six years old is still a little young to be able to master the knots/patterns. I think the age rating should be for older kids.

it worked so much better than taping down the ends to be able to make a bracelet.. Only would have been much better if had a few patterns in with it.
