My grandson loved his geodes which he received for Christmas. He has only opened one so far, as he is spreading them out. But he loved it and has it on his dresser.

Extremely disappointing. $30 flushed down the toilet. 5 geodes too small to see crystalsno color at allshattered to pieces on first hit. A very sad ten year old.The brainteaser book was fun though.

The small kit didn't have colorful geodes and they were hard to break. My daughter loved it, but kit is a bit pricey for quality.

We purchased the 15 geode kit with the thought in mind that they might not all be winners! I must say we had a great time busting them open. Most broke into many pieces, also expected. The ones you buy at the rock shop are cut in halves. My only complaint is the lack of color variation. Most were white with grey, a few were black with white (out favorites). We will be purchasing again!

My son expected this product to be great and it was his most anticipated gift he wanted to use. However, we then realized it was a mistake. The first clue was the goggles that were squashed upon delivery. Another clue was that when we were ready to do this, one of the geodes was cracked already into 20 pieces and shattered crystals, so it was very dissapointing then. I gave my son the hammer and when i went to go get some cofe, he started to cry about how hard it was. So it was then i had to take over. It was still a challenge and then over time, the geodes just shattered into a million pieces. We only got 3 of the geodes to actually get open properly and they were all colorless and small. Never will purchase this product ever again and a huge disappointment for my son

Very disappointed. All the geodes were colorless....nothing like the picture on the box. Grandson was very disappointed with this gift.

Smaller geodes than I thought they would be. Not much educational information with them. They were too hard to break open for my kids, so it kind of lost the fun for them.

my daughter was disappointed in the product. she was very excited to get it from what it looked like in the magazine. But the geodes were small, and definitely not as colorful as the ones shown.

My daughter is almost 8 and loves rocks. Unfortunately, the geodes were much too difficult for her to crack open with a hammer. They were even quite a challenge for me. Once opened, they were all grey crystals on the inside with no other colors. A little disappointing after all the effort it took to crack them open!

Very basic, but every geode had crystals as promised and my son was thrilled with breaking them open and his finds. Not very expensive and fun, I recommend as an entry into geodes

Somewhat unexciting for the price. Six rocks with nothing to break them open with. Our child could not even break them open...her father had to do it. So there was no involvement on my daughters part. Maybe the co. could include some informational material to go along with the geodes or a poster. Something to make it more interesting for the child.

The crystals inside of the geodes were not as colorful as on the picture, they were all white, but my daughter still loved it, she had fun breaking them open!

were pretty hard to crack open...and when you do alot of times you dont have the perfect semi-circular stones but rather a bunch of rock shards..and i guess im kinda picky but all of the crystals were the the same color and not anything like the box cover...

Geodes were not easy to open. Children couldn't do it - adults had to take over. Geodes were interesting once opened, but some of the geodes were really small so they wasn't much inside. All were white/clear. I was hoping for some variations.

My husband had to crack open the geodes for my son, but my son was still very excited by the process, and loved the beauty of the crystals inside.

All of the insides were a greyish blue not the vibrant colors as shown on the box.

My son was very excited to get this for Christmas. While the breaking open part was fun and there were crystals inside, my son was a little bit disappointed that they were all clear and not a big mix as the box showed. All in all, though, he really enjoyed these.
