My child played with this constantly after receiving it. He has been into Legos for years and just loves building things. He's 11 years old and has had a ton of fun with this set. He typically builds his own contraptions, not the ones pictured in the booklet.

Purchased this for my two boys (ages 12 and 9). Both enjoy playing with the set very much! Pieces are very sturdy. They like creating the suggested contraptions and creating ones of their own!

This is our grandson's favorite Christmas present. It's amazing that 200 pieces of wood and a couple of balls can spark so much imagination and creativity!

Maze not as easy to make as seems. Thought planks were grooved, but all flat planks. My kids are having fun with it anyway, despite our disappointment in the toy.

We have purchased both Contraptions and Structures for our kids. They are such a simple product with an amazing array of possibility. They are a favorite of our children who have ranged in age of 7-10 during the time we have had them. As parents, we love the creativity that our kids show when playing with these. They spend a lot of time with them when they get them out to build. Contraptions and Structures come with nice carrying bags to put the blocks in when not in use, so they are easy to put away or take along.

Bought this for my 12 yr old daughter after she pointed it out in your catalog. Honestly wasn't sure if she would use it. It was the first thing she pulled out of the box on Christmas. She has built some amazing tracks - and they work. Exactly like the pictures on the box.

This is a really cool building set. I wanted to find something other than Legos for my boys for Christmas. Like most boys, they are builders and love creating all kinds of contraptions. This was a perfect pick. Even dad loves it. They were able to build some very large structures with this set. It comes with a great manual that helps them learn how to use the blocks. Projects can range greatly in difficulty so it is fun for all ages. (My boys are 7, 10, and 12 + a 38 year old dad.)Thanks for a fantastic toy! Hours and hours of fun!

I gave this to my nine year old brother for Christmas. He also received a big Star Wars Lego set. He put together the Lego set first, but once it was together, he stopped playing with it. When he started playing with the Contraptions set, though, he spent hours with it, putting it together, taking it down, making something different. He wasn't the only one, either - several members of the family, including teens and adults, enjoyed playing with Contraptions. I highly recommend this set.

We bought this for our 9-year-old for Christmas, but the 6-year-old and 8-year-old love it as well. Open-ended play, great for imaginative play, much more than 'pieces of wood and balls.' This keeps their attention for a long time!

We gave the Contraptions to our grandson on his 9th birthday, and he and his brother played with it for days. Even his 3 yr old cousin enjoyed it. Creative!

My son is 6 and we bought this for him.This is better for an older child because it requires alot of work to build and my son loses intrest to quickly because it is so complex. I think it is a great this to do with an adult.

My 6 year old played w/this set at friend's house and I just had to get him his own. He loves building following the instructions included or just making up his own. This is a great toy I know he'll enjoy for years to come.

Santa scored a hit! On Xmas day my 71/2 year old grandson and I built contraption after contraption. (His were the best.) The day after Xmas, we built a town including a movie theater and an ice cream shop. Fun! Fun! Fun!

I was somewhat skeptical, I'll admit, but my son (age 7) LOVES this. He plays with it nearly every day, building mainly ball runs but also garages and other structures. Out of all his Christmas presents, this one is getting the most use so far. Highly recommend!
