Purchased as a Christmas gift for 12 yr old grandson, He was very excited to start collecting samples for slides to view! his mother (an R.N.) was impressed with the quality and the accompanying book. The dual light source feature is an added value!

My daughter and I are very happy with this microscope. The quality is very good, definitely not a toy. The book serves as a good reference. I have not used anything else yet except the prepared slides and some of our own solid objects, so I can't comment on the additional supplies included in the kit.

All my 11 year old wants to do is look at things with her microscope!! It is well-made, easy to use, and has the magnification the same as those I used in high school. We will use this for our homeschool work for years to come.

We bought the microscope and the slides for my daughter's 6th birthday. She loved it. I was blown away myself with the quality and clarity in viewing the slides. We haven't had much time to use it lately, but I'm looking forward to exploring and teaching all of my kids with this microscope!

I reading the web page description, I concluded that 50 slides were include along with an accessory kit - not the case! There are purportedly 50 'accessories' in clouding 5 slides in the kit. In order to arrive at 50 items, you would have to count each lane and each piece of paper. I purchased this item over toerh similarly priced and rated microscopes because the description gave the impression that 50 slides were included which was in excess of the other microscope that was being considered.
