The game itself is great, but if you don't have a bright light shining behind your head you can't see the dingy colors on the pieces. The tiles are gigantic too, so the bag is bulky and a pain to pass around. Just overall not well-thought out. I think we will just take an old Scrabble set and paint the backs and make our own instead of using this set.

This is a fun game for all ages and we have had many fun games until today. One of my close friends is among the 20% of color blind males. The painted surfaces were indistinguishable for him. A small letter (R-O-Y-B-G-P) in the center of each tile would certainly help.

I love the fact our whole family can play this game. The tiles were a lot bigger than I expected them to be but that makes it easier to set them up and see. Our 8 year old daughter loves to play and the game goes fast. We also own Qwirkle Cubes which ups the challenge of Qwirkle and is great for teens/adults.

I am ordering a fourth game today. I originally ordered one for each of the families of my older two children. Even at five years old, my grandchildren enjoyed the game. We bought one for home. It's right there with Scrabble and Rummi-kub as a family favorite. I am ordering another today for our vacation home because we are finished taking ours back and forth. We use it at game day with our older friends who also enjoy it. A wonderful multi-generational experience!

We got this for our then 7-yr.-old son, and it was a hit with him, parents and grandparents. I think younger kids would be able to learn as well, especially since there are no words, so reading isn't required. The only thing we would add is a nice little bag to draw pieces from. We use a pillowcase. Love Quirkle!!

I was looking for a game that 2 could play, and came upon this one. My daughter and I have been hooked since the first game. SO much fun! Easy to learn, easy to play. Teaches good spatial and strategy sklills. We have played this game for hours.

My 5 year old grandson loved Qwirkle as a gift. The whole family played repeatedly over the holiday season. It was easy enough that he could learn the rules, but challenging enough to keep all the aunts and uncles and parents involved! Great game! Good for the grandson's addition skills as he figured out his score after each turn.

We bought this for our 9-year-old grandson, learned it quickly, and easily included his younger (7) brother. It was easy to learn, but was more than challenging enough to keep everyone's interest, including the two boys, their parents and their grandparents. It says for up to 4 people, but it could just as easily be played by more (although it then will take longer between plays). It was a great choice on our part!

Like the game a lot. A couple of the tiles (painted wood) however were imperfect when they were brand new. Also, the design isn't always centered on the tile -- not a huge deal -- but kind-of lowers the quality factor. Would prefer if they were plastic like rummikub pieces (or bananagrams) and a size in between the standard version and the travel version. The standard version is a tad big (especially if it were plastic). I prefer the travel version for regular play but it could be a tad (but just a tad larger) for better viewing. Also, the reds and oranges sometimes look almost the same (especially on the black background) ... might be easier to distinguish these colors on a white background.

I bought this game for my 5 and 6 year old grandsons for Christmas. Little did I know the adults would quickly take it over. We played for days on end during the holidays. It is a cross between dominoes and Scrabble without the math or spelling. It is a game that all three generations can enjoy on a pretty level playing field.

We gave our grand kids from Florida this game for Christmas and we all enjoyed Quirkle so much, I ordered one for us. We played it with 6 and 8 year olds and we are 71 and 72 year old grandparents. What a joy and a delightful game whether it's 4 people playing or just two.

Not recommended for young unless their attention span can tolerate at least one hour. Very similar to dominoes. We bought for our 7 year old grandson and it was to complicated and the rules ambiguous. The price does not justify the game.

This is a fun, challenging game for all ages to play together. Rarely, have we found a game which is strategic enough for adults, while being easy enough for children to learn. I have to add that our 13 yr. old granddaughter has been "beating our pants off" in this game for about 3 years! Also, there's not much fighting or animosity which can result from this game: fair competition only. This is absolutely one of my favorite games to play as a family.

Qwirkle is a great game for all ages, very young to we more mature grandparents. Easily learned yet can be challenging. My daughter gives this gift when her sons are invited to a birthday party. This is by far one of my favorite games. My 5 year old daughter is pretty good at games, meaning she's practiced a bit with various card games and has learned to pick up the concepts and has a modicum of patience, and she picked this up very quickly.We've played it with friends and family and every group we introduce it to LOVES it. We've already caused a knock-off purchase, and I easily expect more.One of the keys is not just that the ruleset is so trivial and the concept so simple, but unlike scrabble, the game is immediately international and crosses all language boundaries.This should be the dominos of our era.
